2005-21 In the opening paragraph, the author introduces his topic by________.

2005-23 Female capuchin monkeys were chosen for the research most probably because they are______.

2005-24 Dr. Brosnan and Dr. de Waal have eventually found in their study that the monkeys ________.

  另一个是完整的疑问句(用which/what/why/who/where/when/how进行提问),例如2005年第二篇阅读中的第29题和第四篇阅读中的第38题。

2005-29 According to the author, what should the Administration do about global warming?

2005-38 To which of the following statements would McWhorter most likely agree?

The researchers studied the behaviour of female brown capuchin monkeys. They look cute. They are good-natured, co-operative creatures, and they share their food readily. Above all, like their female human counterparts, they tend to pay much closer attention to the value of “goods and services” than males.

Such characteristics make them perfect candidates for Dr. Brosnan’s and Dr. de Waal’s study. The researchers spent two years teaching their monkeys to exchange tokens for food. Normally, the monkeys were happy enough to exchange pieces of rock for slices of cucumber. However, when two monkeys were placed in separate but adjoining chambers, so that each could observe what the other was getting in return for its rock, their behaviour became markedly different.

  23. Female capuchin monkeys were chosen for the research most probably because they are ________.

[A] more inclined to weigh what they get

  [B] attentive to researchers’ instructions

[C] nice in both appearance and temperament

[D] more generous than their male companions

解析:通过阅读题干可得知该题是因果细节题,根据题干中的定位词“ Female capuchin monkeys”“were chosen”“most probably because ”,回文定位,不难发现文章第三段第一句话“Such characteristics make them perfect candidates for Dr. Brosnan’s and Dr. de Waal’s study.” 因此,本题我们的文中线索句是“like their female human counterparts, they tend to pay much closer attention to the value of “goods and services” than males.”(像人类中的女性一样,她们比男性更加重视“商品和服务”的价值。)线索句与选项进行匹配,不难发现A选项more inclined to weigh what they get(更加重视她们所得到的)正是对线索句的同义改写。 “Practice makes perfect.”
